Claude Makalele
Claude Makalele is a French defensive midfielder that has been an invaluable member in Chelsea's team in the premiership triumphs in 2004-05 and 2005-06. Makalele started his career in Nantes before signing for Marseille then making his way to spain – playing for Celta Vigo and Real Madrid. Chelsea signed Makelele in the summer of 2003 following Real Madrid's reluctance to match Makalele's wage demands.
