Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard Jr. began his career at West Ham United in the 1994-95 season and in total scored 24 goals in 178 appearances from central midfield for the Hammers. In the summer of 2001 Claudio Ranieri signed Lampard for an £11m fee. Lampard went on to become a great success transforming himself into one of the top midfielders in Europe. He was voted English Footballer of the Year in 2005 and voted second best player in the world and in Europe (both after Ronaldinho) in the winter of the same year.

 

Gianfranco Zola

Gianfranco Zola began his career in his native Italy in 1984. He was understudy to the great Maradonna, playing in a similar role, after signing for Serie A side Napoli in 1989. In 1993 Zola joined Parma and helped them to win the UEFA cup in 1995. In the winter of 1995 Zola signed for Chelsea for a £4.5m fee. Zola guided Chelsea to a number of trophies including the UEFA Cup Winner's Cup and FA Cup and was voted player of the season in 1998-99. He was a magician on the ball with excellent skills and great natural ability. Zola was sold to Italian side Cagliari in 2003.
