The FA Cup final match between Sheffield United and Chelsea took place at Old Trafford in May 1915. The Blades were in exhilarating form and defeated Chelsea 3-0 in a gloomy and wet afternoon. The match was attended by a staggering 49,550 people and it kept in times with the occasion. Vivian Woodward captained Chelsea on the day and performed very well and Bob Thomson was in good form for the Blues as he also played well in helping the club reach the FA Cup final. Lord Derby presented the Blades with the FA Cup trophy as Sheffield United were the 1915 FA Cup winners.
